Antique Engagement Ring Old Mine Cut Diamond Ruby Ring Antique Diamond Wedding Band 18K Gold Antique Diamond Wedding Ring Size 6!
This original old mine cut diamond and genuine ruby antique engagement ring/wedding band is a beautiful example of jewelry from the Edwardian era 1901-1910 and it is in amazing condition for a ring of this age! The wedding ring is a combination of alternating old mine cut diamonds (5) and genuine translucent pinkish purple red rubies (5) all measuring approximately 2.5mm each. The setting is a hand carved 18K yellow gold masterpiece of filigree shoulder work so reminiscent of the fine craftsmanship from over 100 yrs ago! There is no discernible hallmark left but it would appear that there is what looks to be the remnants of one or more hallmarks similar to an elongated crown. With British jewelry an old crown symbol was called Crown Standard and meant the item was gold. The ring was authenticated 18K gold through acid testing. This beautiful antique ring was examined by a GIA Graduate Gemologist and it is his suggestion that the ring can be safely resized by one size only in order to maintain the original integrity of the ring. The current size is a 6. This antique ring is such a special find and would make a very memorable engagement or wedding ring full of historical significance for today's modern bride to enjoy!
